Vail has a wonderful choice of bars and restaurants; whether you are looking for world class cuisine or a comfort staple, you are sure to find it during your stay. Reservations are recommended, and typically Vail restaurants open to reservations 30 days out. The best way to reserve is on-line – links below where available. Vail restaurants usually require guest credit cards to confirm a table, and cancellation fees are assessed for late cancellations and no-shows.

  • Mountain Standard, menu: The creators of the legendary Sweet Basil opened Mountain Standard in December 2012 as a rustic relaxed tavern. The majority of Mountain Standard’s menu is prepared via the most primal cooking method: over an open and live wood fire. The food has rustic, bold and honest flavors, focusing on the purest ingredients in the Rocky Mountain region and beyond.   • Matsuhisa, menu: Chef Nobu’s new-style Japanese cuisine draws influence from his classical training in Tokyo and his life abroad in Peru, Argentina, and around the world, showcasing signature dishes such as Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño, Black Cod Miso and White fish Tiradito.   • La Nonna, menu: La Nonna shares their deep love of Italian food and wine with visiting guests and the local community. Their new dining room is elegant, yet warm and inviting. Reservation requests are made up to one month in advance by phone: 970.393.5959.
  • Lancelot, menu: Lancelot is Vail’s original prime rib house and has been serving the same slow-roasted favorite since 1969. Today, in addition to this time honored tradition, Lancelot offers a delicious array of carefully prepared steaks and seafood.   • Russell’s, menu: Russell’s is more than a steakhouse, it is a dining experience! Serving certified Angus beef, fresh seafood, shrimp, wiener schnitzel and Alaskan King Crab legs to name a few.   • Up The Creek: Up The Creek is family owned and has been operating since 1988. They take pride in serving fresh ingredients sourced from local and sustainable sources whenever possible.
